Is the LT4 HOTCAM upgrade kit worth it ? ...
I was considering getting the LT4 HOTCAM conversion kit for a lt1. The kit with the complete heads, intake, and the hot cam. Any pro's or con's of this kit ? How big of a difference in perforance can i expect? The kit claims 430+ hp but i was wondering how the kit was before i spend over 2k on it. Also anyone have 1/4 times before and after the conversion ???
Ur referring to the LT4 conversion package, not the Hot cam kit. The hot cam kit is simply cam, rockers, shims + retainers, and springs.
The Lt4 package is decent power, but rather overpriced. U would be better off getting heads and cam package from a company like www.cmotorsports.com
I personally am DISAPPOINTED with the Hot cam kit itself right now (see SH*TTY times in sig) But then again, i think my car has issues.

The kit i was talking about is in the Pace Performance catalog. It includes LT4 heads complete with valves and springs, the red LT4 intake manifold, and the GM Performance Parts HOT cam kit that includes the cam, 1.6 rr, and all the gaskets , and it says the kit is a proven 425+ horsepower ... So does anyone know the pro's and cons of the kit , also its 2300$. Any other kits out there that make more power for the price that the stock bottom would still handle ? Id like to keep the bottom end stock for at least a year untill I have enough money to buy Eagle rods, and JE coated pistons ...
The LT4 hot cam kit is a good kit that offers nice gains for the price. The LT4 conversion is a rip-off. I seriously doubt 425+, at the wheels or the flywheel, even with a bas @ss dynotune. Get the hot cam kit, not the conversion.
