lt4 hotcam and p&p heads guys come in

what mpg are you gettin cause im seein about 15 and it seems the colder it gets the worse my car runs. if it drops below freezing my car missses for about 10 secs then smooths out.

i have an auto and i get a weird vibration also at the top of 2nd goin into 3rd at WOT could it be a DS balance issue or what

that and to tell you the truth since the rebuild i havent really got on it enought to shift 2-3 WOT, ive hammered it from a light and WOT 1-2 shift and then let off about 80 or so cause i dont want anymore tickets, cant afford them.

story is though i spun rod bearings 7&8 so i pulled it and rebuilt it with a new LT1 crank, stock rods, stock pistons, new plasma moly rings, clevite 77 h-series rod, main, and cam bearings, all new seals and gaskets, i have hooker LT's no emissions at all, all blocked off, stage 2 P&P heads flowing 275 intake 190 exhaust, UD pullies, all free mods (deleted Mass Airflow Screen & Throttle Body Coolant Bypass), ram air with k&n, A4 4L60E tranny ,2400 stall, tranny cooler, & 3.42 gears, 2 1/2" ypipe to 3" flowmaster catback with singe 3" cutout, 1LE intake elbow, BBK 25% Underdrive crank pulley & overdrive alternator pulley, 160* thermostat, Holley airfoil & PCM4Less OBD1 conversion + LT4 Knock Module, lt4 ed timing chain, denso iridium plugs, lt4 hotcam kit, the thin head gaskets (so roughly 11:1 CR).

i re used a lot of stock components cause i was building on a budget and dont want anymore then low to mid 12s and reliability

i have the most up to date tune from pcm4less on there but it seems like the longer i drive it the worse my mpg get

what is everyone elses experience with this stuff and andvice please, thanks
joe

Hey Joe, I believe all of us cam guys cars run real rough on initial startup in the cold. Mine runs pretty rough on start up in this cold Kansas weather. I know Brads car does too. As for the vibration, have you tried reving it any in neutral to make sure its not motor related? The mad mpg could be a header leak. You should borrow a scanmaster from someone. Mine is such a B!tch to get out. Talk to Brad over winter break maybe he can let you borrow his.

dang dude, what are you stalkin me or something, everytime i post you reply.
j/k
thanks for the info about you and brads cars, that makes me feel a lil better about it runnin rough in the cold

as far as the vibration, its not engine related cause i have revved it in neutral before and nothing, and it used to do this even when i had it stock so i dont kow if its just an auto thing or what.

as far as the header leak, ill throw another gasket on the drivers side just to quiet it up over xmas break and then try to borrow brads scanner. i would like to get it dyno tuned if brad is free sometime but i dont wanna do it in arctic temps either and i need to replace my oilpan gasket first.
