LT4 Hotcam kit
my buddie did the complete kit in his '95 TA which wasn't a very good running car
prior to cam - Hooker long tubes, intake, open y-pipe, 2.73 rear, and DR's - 13.8@100
Cam & new 3.42 rear - 12.9@107 so he picked up a lot but i'm sure others have had better times, it sounds damn good to

I believe I might go with the Hotcam too. I wanted something like the cc306 but I just don't have the money for the heads and other little things.
Seems like you get some pretty good gains outta the cam though...sounds like a great bang for the buck

I would say go for it. I put the hotcam kit in when I did my motor and it made a huge improvement. The car feels so much stronger in the upper/mid RPM range, though it did lose a little low end. Not much, just a little. I shift at 5800-6000 RPM now, compared to 5200-5400 RPM on the stock cam. My 1/8 mi. trap speed improved about 2-3 MPH. Numbers aside, the idle sounds great and it runs awesome. I drive my car 25,000+ miles per year, and it has always been stone reliable, no matter the driving conditions. IMO, for the price you can't beat it.
I think some people misjudge the hotcam allot. Im doing the LT4 hotcam swap right now plus adding SLP shorties, I would rather go with long tube but im in CALI smog sucks. My buddy had kinda the same setup im doing an the outcome was outstanding power.
Well if it loses power in the low or mid or high I got a 100 shot to back it up
you should do it bro.

Some other cams i would look into would be the cc305, XE224/230, and the GM846 (not 847).
cc305 (220 / 230, .510 / .510 114 LSA)
XE 224/230 ( 224 / 230, .502 / .510 112 LSA)
GM846 (222 / 230 .509 / .529 112 LSA)
I like the 846 cam because it has a little more lift than the XE and is ground on a 112 LSA. The 846 is also a crane billet grind. You can get the GM846 from thunderracing for $250 (Part # 40-10HR00014).
All three of these cams will put down more power across the board than the hotcam.

Hot cam
I just had the hot cam installed in my 94 camaro z28 m6. Its a awesome cam. It sounds mean and makes a nice lope to it. Go to www.exhuastsoundclips.com and click on gm - lt4 hotcam with the loudmouth. - you can hear the hot cam - mike
With stock or mildly ported heads the hotcam kit is a very good buy. I have the kit and like it. I put down 340rwhp with a basic tune from PCMforless. I've since got a better tune from them but my rear end is busted so I'm waiting on a 12 bolt for more numbers. Also the car ran a consistent 13.0@109 w/ 2.0 60 foot. The rearend popping off the line and my driving skills are limiting. I'm an M6.
I am however considering a bigger cam with heavily ported heads as this car is less of a daily driver now.
