Okay, I know the hotcam is not anything serious - that's exactly why I am considering it. I drive from Florida to NY, etc., towing boats along the way, so.... How will this cam affect my gas mileage? What about any other pitfalls?

As long as you can keep your foot out of the gas it wont change much. I think on the highway Im getting right around 20mpg and its running really rich too. Need to fix that exhaust leak and im sure new O2 sensors couldn't hurt either.

It didn't affect mine! But, you are towing boats w/ it? Wow. I don't think it would be a problem, but you may want to get it tuned

I've got it and I get around 30 on the highway...

 

With my entire setup, I'm getting about 12 MPG, mostly city driving.

PS - I have crappy programming, running rich with a whole lot of knock retard

 

see sig for mods,
i get about the same gas mileage as when i was stock around 15-20mph, now at WOT it drinks gas.
you gotta love fuel injection
