LT4 Hotcam

ive looked around online a bit and saw the hotcam kit where it comes with everything making it kind of easy. Just wondering is it good for the price and how does it perform. This car is mainly a daily driver with occasional times at the track and a lot of time being beat on on the highway. When i get the cam im also doing a rebuild and thought while i got the engine apart why not get a cam.

I think that the hotcam is good for a daily driver.

people get into the 12's with it. Now, if you are going to a 383 like your signature says, you are going to want something bigger.

Not to be a d!ck but seriously do a search for cams and read...I'm in the process now of choosing a cam and the only thing I can say is just read, read and read.

Going with one cam or another doesn't detemine how easy it's going to be. Decide what you plan on doing with the car and go from there.

You are going to have to mod the valve train, including springs, guide plates and hardened Prs (nsa rrs)--maybe change out the timing chain, etc.

There are alot of choices out there and to just go with a Hot Cam may not be the best way to go. I'm just sayin'

everyone seems to bash the hotcam, but it really is a nice little cam. I had it in my car with my old setup, ran 12.9X's all day with just the cam+Boltons and a full weight M6 car. sounded cool and performed really nice with a mail-order tune. I drove it everywhere also without a problem.

I think it is worth it, but one thing I have had bad expireinces with is the rockers they give you. I broke two of them and they seem really cheesy. My advice would be buy the cam+springs and a set of comp pro-mags.

How did you break them!?!?!? They are Crane rockers! You must have installed them too tight.

no they kept coming lose on me, when I was spinning it to 6300 and the tip danced around on the valve and ruined the roller part. and it was the same one both times so i switched to a pro-mag and not a problem since.
