Questions:
1. Timing chain? I need to replace this with my install correct? Whats the recommended part number?
2. Lifters? I need new lifters correct? PN on that to please....
3. I have hardened pushrods since its a 94... but should I replace mine?
Now take in mind.. i have 107K on the clock... Regardless it has been taking care of.. but still...
4. Bearings... Should I replace my stockers? Whats the PN # on that too...?
Anything I forgot? I'm purchasing the entire kit...
Thanks guys! I really appreciate this!

Re: LT4 Hotcam!
1. Its recomended, I changed it out with my hot cam swap. (I have an extra timing set for my 94 with 50 miles on it... PM if your interested, $60shipped?)
2. You dont need them but again it wouldent hurt. I'm running comp cams stock replacement lifters, I'm running pn 63-850-16. Make sure not to buy the "R" series lifters (pn 63-875-16)
3. Its up to you but if your doing the lifters I'd say to the pushrods to. (I'm using comp cams pn 63-7940-16)
4. Your going to have to leave your bearings unless you plan on pulling the motor at they cant all be changed while its in the car

Re: LT4 Hotcam!
When I put a HOTcam in my car I just put a stock replacement timing chain on the car. If you want to, you can buy the chain and both sprockets for really cheap.
at about 125k miles I cleaned and re-used my stock lifters. If you want new ones, stock replacements will be fine.
Don't bother with new pushrods.
Since you will probably only spin the HOTcam to 6200 or so, I wouldn't worry about bearings. The front cam bearing seems to wear pretty fast in these cars, however, people only seem to have problems with rod/main bearings on these cars when you spin the motor 6500+ (and even then, only relatively few report problems).
In addition to the kit you will need to buy new timing cover gaskets, water pump gaskets. Be sure to drop the oil pan down a little before removing the timing cover by pulling it straight forward. If you do not it will rip the oil pan gasket. If you re-install the timing cover at an angle due to the pan being in place you will rip your oil seals on the cover. It's a bitch, but drop the pan down an inch or so.

Re: LT4 Hotcam!
Hmmm i was only going to spin the rpm to 6100... Hmm, I may just clean and reuse my lifters... and get new ones down the road along with other things...
So lets see....
1. HOTCAM kit...
2. timing cover gaskets,
3. water pump gaskets.
4. Timing chain and sprockets<------(do those come with it?)

It's not so much a must as it is just to get the most out of it.
The LT4 Hot Cam is nowhere near as big (duration/lift) as my cam is and I ran it on a stock tune for a little while and it wasn't a "bitch to drive" as you say. Just not all there, but at the same time it still hung with a 115 car while it was bending and snapping hardened pushrods, haha... but that's another story.

sorry....bitch to drive with a untuned hot cam, blower , spec III
Re: LT4 Hotcam!
1. You will want to replace your timing chain with at least a new stock one. A lot of people upgrade.
2. You should be able to use your stock lifters. When you take them out make sure to inspect them thoroughly for wear and discoloration.
3. Your pushrods should be good to reuse. double check to make sure they are still straight and you are good to go.
4. A lot of people report seeing wear on their front cam bearing. Inspect yours and make your best judgement/ post on it. I left mine in, but some people believe that is the cause of the engine failures after cam swaps.
*5. You will need gaskets (timing set, intake, waterpump).
*6. You will want to get a tune.

Re: LT4 Hotcam!
I just dropped my car off at the shop today to get an front seal which was leaking oil fixed, and while its apart I'm throwing a hotcam in as well...
My car has 107,000 miles. I decided to replace the lifters with another used set from a LS1 that i picked up cheap. I think I paid $40 shipped for them, and they had ~40,000 miles on them.
I kept my stock pushrods, and stock rockers. The rockers will be replaced with a 1.6:1 ratio set in the future when I have more funds. I did go with the LT4 valve springs. The last thing I ordered was a stock replacement timing chain.
I can get you the part numbers for everyting if you want. I paid $302 shipped for the cam, springs, locks, caps and timing chain.

I decided to go with the hotcam and stock rockers for a few reasons. I dont race either... I just wanted something that would sound good, make decent power, have great drivability, and would be easy to tune. I figured that driving on the street I wouldnt miss the 10hp or so missing from using the 1.6 rockers.
The number I gave you for the chain is just the chain. I got the number off this message board. I'm hoping i can reuse my gears... Maybe someone will have a number for the stock replacement gears.
