How hard is it to install this cam or any other cam into a 96 z28? Also are thier any documentations for install? Also is there a better cam for the money for street purposes.

Re: LT4 Hot Cam install

Almost everyone with a cam reports that the LT4 hotcam will see minimal power gains over some of the brand name bigger cams that cost the same.

I'm with the above statement.. alot of people are sorry when they go with the hot cam and usually wind up upgrading after a while. But that is your choice. As for the install..

Its a matter of removing the intake to take the lifters out, getting the radiator and A/C condensor out of the way to make room to remove and install the cam, and getting the front cover off. You also have to change the valve springs which can be very time consuming. Finally, you set the valve lash. That is an extremely simplified process. Its gunna take you a good 10 hours easy. Plan for 3 days first time around. Take your time, double check everything, then check that again.
