I have a 93 camaro that is in bad need of a rebuild and i dont want to stay stock and was considering the Hot cam kit. I am also stepping up to 2800 stall converter, and possibly headers. With the rebuild i would put comp R lifters, hardened pushrods, and a new timing chain. Also what long tube headers have been worth while that anybody knows about. Any advice or recomindations would be very helpfull or if these combos would go good together.

 

i havent heard the greatest things bout comp rs. i went with crane roller lifters and they have been fine.

 

Personally, I'd go with stock replacement lifters vice the (sometimes) touchy R's.

 

I've been pretty happy with the Hooker coated LTs.

 

Sounds like you have a nice little rebuild in plan. You might want to use comps regular lifter as the R is a bit extreme for the LT4 hotcam.

Hooker coated long tubes.. That along with a vigilainte 2800 and your hotcam kit should power the car down into mid 12's pretty easy.

Just make sure you plan on a tune as well as the 93's really desprately need tuning with any cam change.
