LT4 heads?

I've got a chance at some nice LT4 heads that are stock with aftermarket valve springs and thats about it. The research I've done is that the LT4s actually flow a little better than the LT1 heads and they have a little more material to them so they can be worked a little more. my question is if I bolt those LT4 heads up to my motor with the cam I have in it would I see a little more gain than I would have with my stock LT1 heads?

Since they flow better than LT1 heads you will feel more power. From my understanding the better the motor flows the better it will feel.

Also: i noticed in ur sig that one of ur up coming mods is an MSD opti. I highly recomed the stock AC Delco opti with MSD cap and rotor.

Yes, you will get a slight gain from them. But I wouldn't buy them if they are stock. Save your money for some stock ported LT1 heads. Besides, you will need an LT4 intake for the LT4 heads. The LT4 heads do have more room for porting (the intake roof is .1" higher), however the LT1 castings will support over 500 HP with porting.

if you have big plans they are great castings. But they still need to be ported.

Sell them for some ported lt1 castings. LT4 stuff will bring top dollar.

I agree that the LT4 castings are better for a stroker spinning some RPM and a ported LT1 head is a better choice for a stock bottom end. Some LT4 Vette owners will not agree and insist on porting LT4 castings but the ported LT1's will be much quicker/faster on a stock bottom end or 355 spinning 6500 RPM.

I would sell them to a Vette owner and get LT1 castings ported.
