The Edelbrock stuff is a joke at best. Their heads and cam package makes less at the flywheels than many ported stock heads setups make at the wheels.

Your screen name indicates you have a "stroker"..... how big? The LT4 HOT cam (hopefully what you meant when you typed "LT4 cams") and stock LT1 heads are really holding it back. You need a much more aggressive cam and some healthy breathing ported stock heads to make the power a stroker should be capable of.

I think he means high rpm cam (top-end of the power spectrum). Do not buy the edelbrock LT4 heads or cam. Unless you want to waste money and have very little increase in power. I had a friend that bought the Edelbrock LT4 package awhile ago, with heads, intake, cam. Long story short the car was a turd. I don't know a single person that has had "good" results with those heads. Older stuff is a little different, but why spend that much? When ported stockers are above and beyond the crappy edelbrock heads.

I've noticed several questions you've posted about your engine, and you are always asking about "cams"..... plural. Your LT1 engine only has one cam.

For heads, look at what is available from Lloyd Elliott, Advanced Induction, or one of our Supporting Vendors - Port Masters. They will typically have vaious levels of heads and cam (singular) packages, depending on what power level you want, and how much you want to spend. If you contact them, remember to tell them its a stroker.

Why do you feel the bottom end needs to be rebuilt?

^ Because i feel that the previous owner didnt stroke it and lied to me. he had papers but any joe could do that. i have my doubts like everyone else. so im planning in the next 6 months to rebuild it. thats why i need some new heads, cam, and the bottem block. but for right now i have to have some new heads and cam.

So back to the heads/cam.
i emailed elliot portworks and told him that i want to go from lt1 to le1. what i know for a fact is that i have a shift kit, 58mm TB, moroso intake. would the le1 heads/cam put me over 400 rwhp???? by the way i have a 96 z28 a4.

No, LE3 might though if you have the supporting mods, exhaust, decent rockers, and a nice stall converter.

well i mean my budget is real tight right now. budget is between 1000-1500. im just looking for decent power. about 400hp+. do you think a 58mm tb would work with this setup from elliot:
Head/cam package will pull from 2,000 to 6,200 RPM and should make *370 – 390 RWHP
with 30 lb. injectors, 52 MM T.B., 1 ¾ LT’s no cats, good tuning, etc. This will have an idle similar to the HotCam, CC 305, etc.The LT1 LE1 heads consist
Stock Valves with Back Out
Crane 10308-1 dbl valve spring, retainer and lock kit
195 CC Intake Port
Milling, Cleaning, Assembly
Flow About 260/180
Ready to bolt on

Is this a good buy just for daily driving with power??

Double check that first. You could be rebuilding up an engine that was just built.

A bigger throttle body won't hurt anything.
