Lt4 Heads

How much hp am I going to gain in a lt1-lt4 change of heads and lt1 intake ported, I already have a 58mm TB. I’m not intending the complete lt4 kit, maybe tuning if recommended.

Nothing's stopping you from doing that, but man - what a colossal waste of $. For the price of the LT4 heads and intake, you can get an LE1 heads and cam combo that'd blow the doors off an LT1 with bone stock LT4 heads and stock cam set up.

Re: Lt4 Heads

Save the money till you get the entire package.
Just use NAAAAZZZZZ for right now to satisfy your power needs. 100shot should be fine.

Re: Lt4 Heads

In a stock motor the cam is the biggest choke, now it was a smaller cam but one of the b-body guys tried ported aluminums with a stock cam and lost power over the stock iron heads. The f-body cam is a tad bigger and guys have reported gains going to ported heads but the ports on the LT4 heads being bigger to get flow as cast are not going to work that well with a stock cam. You MIGHT pick up a little power but will likely lose some at other points in the rpm band, at any rate it will not be worth the effort and cost. As far as tuning it is a great mod on an otherwise stock car. I do not understand why people try to mod the engine without tuning.
