lt4 head help.

I pretty sure soon im going with a set of afr lt4 heads...
with that, wich setup is best for me?
195cc 210cc 220cc or the 227cc..

and which package, the race ready or the comp package..

should I have them ported more or leave them alone.
and or have them milled, to raise my C.R. considering my heads now have a 54cc combustion chamber and most of these have 74+cc's..

are the parts/harware that are included with them good stuff, or should I buy aftermarket?

any info and extra help is greatly appreciated

the motor is a 30over lt1 "355" six speed car.
I have the comp cams 306 cam now, would this cam be alright for this "which ever head setup is correct"?
from my understanding it has too much duration gap.. :dunno:

Keep in mind I still want this a street car, and dont want to have all my power way up in the rpm's...

i think for that set up, unless you are planning for a bigger motor and cam i would have my heads ported or maybe get some GM lt4 castings my .02

I put the unported LT4 castings on and I have regretted not porting them. While you're in there, you might as well shell out a little extra for the porting, because it's worth it, and it's a pain to pull everything apart to port them later.

Re: lt4 head help.

I think that the AFR LT4 210's would be the best. You probably wouldn't need a 220 or 227. I have a set of AFR 210's that I bought bare to have ported. I have not heard too much good about AFR's port work. From what I understand, you pay a lot for port work that is "fair." I would suggest buying a set of bare heads and having a good porter do them for you. I think that you will get better results this way. The compression ratio will be up to you. You can get away with 11.5 to 1 or 12.0 to 1 and still run pump gas.
