LT4 gaskets reusable?

Are GM LT4 gaskets reusable? They were on the car for about 10 miles before I sprung an intake leak...

I have re-used them with out a problem, I'm guessing you are using the 12367777 gasket?

fwiw, Felpro 1206's are the same port size, seal better, and are cheaper and easier to get a hold of. just have to cut new holes in them for some of the bolts

Does it matter if the heads and intake have been ported? If not Ill go with the felpro's than.

The fact that they were only used for 10 miles doesnt mean anything since they were already compressed right?

the ones i re-used that didnt seal werent even used that long

the 1206's are the same size as the LT4s, possibly a tad larger. i havent looked at the two side by side or measured the LT4s recently. i really dont imagine your heads would be ported larger than the ports in them. if you dont want to cut a few intake bolt holes into them, you could get the LT1 felpro gaskets, but then you would have to cut the ports, and they might be harder to get a hold of depending where you get your gaskets from.

the 1206s are what i have been using for the last year or so after having problems with the LT4s, and it is a very common SBC medium race port gasket that most speed shops should carry in stock

Alright, I have a bunch of shops like that around, Ill have to pick up a set than. Cutting a couple intake bolt holes isnt a big deal.

Thanks.
