Lt4

One of my friends has an LT1 z28, with ported and polished LT4 heads, an lt4 hot cam, throttle body, cai, different rr's, automatic, 2800rpm converter, 4.10 gears, shift kit, bigger injectors, chip, and all kinds of little stuff. But when I was at the track with him, his best run was around 13.5 He had it dynoed and it only put down 324 rwhp. Is it just me or do those numbers sound off? What should it be running?

those sound about right to me, 324rwhp means he has about 385 or so hp at the crank. His times sound slow though.

Seems low to me. What year is it? Does he not have the LT4 intake...I think he has to. I'm trying to sell a LT4 crate engine with the hot cam, headers, 58mm tb, etc and it put down 370 to the wheels(stock heads) and ran 12's all day in an automatic. Might want to get some headers, TB, and check the tuning. 13.5 is slow for that set up and 324rwhp is also low...to me atleast...especially for the money sunk into it. Those heads should be flowing in the 300's, but if he doesn't have the tb and headers, it could hurt him.

He has the lt4 intake, and bigger throttle body too. I forgot to mention his exhaust, which is long tubes into true duals with no cats. Maybe he just hasnt had a good day at the track. I rode in it once, and that was the most violent acceleration I have ever felt. While we were out, he lined up with a Z06 and had a half a car length from a stop to 100

Hmmm...I say bad day at the track and the dyno then...if he beat a z06. Was it a mustang dyno or a dynojet? 324rwhp bothers me, because that is a similar set up I am going with...after all the money I spent I would be pissed with 324 hp.

thats low, either it isnt tuned right or somone really screwed up the head porting, he should be at 350 minimum, and probibly closer to 400. Ive seen cars with just the hotcam and exhaust put down 324

I can understand the clow track times though, he has alot of traction problems. I forgot his trap speeds, but he was spinning through third and getting a chirp in fourth

Has he done anything to the suspension yet? How about drag radials or et streets? Since traction is an issue, he might want to start with some better suspension/stickier tires
