lt1vsls1 bore & stroke

the lt1's bore and stroke is 4.0x3.4 and the ls1's is 3.89x3.622 would their higher stroke have something to do with why they make more hp stock than lt1's?

more compressoin does = more HP, but these motors also have different heads, different rockers, and probably a lot of other differences.

The only things these two motors share are cylinder count, bore spacing and a Chevy pedigree. The differences are far to great to try to attribute any running characteristic to just one of the differences.

higher horse power is how fast you can spin the engine, the LS1 is at a disadvantage geaometry wise on the bottom end, longer stroke and smaller bore, promoted torque, not high spinning, but the LS1 isnt bad off, and its way effeicient, so it spins high, flows more, and makes more power. but then again you could say the longer stroke, promotes torque, therefor, adding the higher revvs than the LT1, it makes more HP.
