LT1's and Magazines
LT1's and Magazines
I went throgh all my old MOTOR TRENDS and read all of the 4th GEN articles.
What are these guys smoking, 90% of the LT1's they tested ran mid to high 14's. The best the got out of a 1996 WS.6 was a 14.3.
Were they all anti-LT1?
My 1994 Trans Am GT ran a 14.2 bone stock!
No wonder everyone thinks the LS1 is untouchable. If all I did was read about LT1's I wouldn't want one.

I never ran mine bone stock, but it has 108,000 miles on it and the only mods are headers, exhaust (cut-out) and a K&N FIPK and I run 13.6's on 17x9" wheels/tires. Not the fastest out there, but my car is old as the hills... the suspension makes more creaks than your grandma's knees and it can still run that...
So yeah, I'd say they didn't know what they were doing
I don't have any special launch technique other than hammer down!

I was stock down to the paper filter, actually had a fubar locker, and bad tires. I bet I can stall is a little higher and maybe get a 1.99999
with my Nitto 555 radials. Im sure the cut out might help now as well...Well see, I cant wait to get back out there.
