LT1's and gas mileage...
What does a good running, bone stock LT1 hit on the highway? The best I've done is 250/tank (16.1 MPG) but my gauge is royally screwed so I could have gone more I'm sure.
Just wondering because I'll have to commute ~80miles/day next year and am seriously looking at the turbo 4cyl market....

I just drove from Southwest Florida to New York (I make this trip all the time), and I managed 28 MPG the whole way. I kept the car on cruise control for most of the trip, 75-80 MPH.
Mods in sig - as you can see, it's mostly stock.

Ive seen in this thread and another, that people are saying that their gauges are always off and not accurate at all. However, ive found that mine is extremely accurate. When im almost empty, thats what its telling me, when im about half full, thats what its telling me. Ive verified this when I fill up and take note that the gauge is reading half, and I fill up and I put in about 7 gallons of gas. The tank is 15.5 i think, so thats about right, give or take a half gallon here and there, so id say its pretty accurate. however, that is just my experience. And for an answer to this post, i usually get 13-14 mpg city and 16 mpg highway, however I believe I have a clogged cat, which is just killin my mpg.
