LT1 vs. BLOWN V-6?

ya this guy has a 99 camaro with flowmasteer, RK sport LT headers, and the Pewerdyne blower from Rk sport. I have no clue how fast it will be, but look at my mods and see who u think will come out on top.

grate speeling

I think u should take him. A Blower on those dog @$$ 3.8L don't really put out that much power. U got the tires to get him off the line and I doubt he will be able to pull u back.

You CANNOT compare a turbocharged Grand National to a blown 3.8 Camaro. Turbocharged cars are different animals.

I dunno, depends on how much work he's put into it. I've seen the 3.8's go mid 14's NA, so a blower would put him pretty deep into the 13's if he's got everything working in sync.

depends... there is a guy with a 98 maro thats blown, and he runs 15.1 and there is one with blower and other stuff running mid 13s...

i'd say he'd be low low 14s or maybe even high 13s

nothing like the low end on the lt1 tho

Itll be close. Depends on how much power hes making.

You are probably a mid-high 13. He should be at the least that fast if everythngs working correctly.

The Grand National had a straight 6 in it. It was a 3.8L but not a V6.

No the GN had a V6. The current 3.8 is the series II, a little different from the first. Not sure how strong they are, but the Buick 3.8 stock block has consistently broken the 700hp barrier and lived. Mines closer to 475 or so(400rwhp) on the stock bottom end and no problems. My neighbor's 86 is pushing over 500rwhp and has done so for over 4 years and hundreds of 25+psi passes at the track.

How much boost is the 99 pushing? I'd think it would take over 7 or 8#s just to match a stock LT1. Anything under that and he's toast
