LT1 Tune Up Guide

Is there any company that make a "tune up" in a box. By this I mean Plug, Wires, Fuel Filer, etc... Is there any thing Else that I should change? It's just over 100k. Thanks All, John

fuel filter, wires, plugs, possibly opti if you have the common "bad opti" problems...

your cat is most likely clogged...dpeending on what you want to do id replace it with a high flow or gut it...

some say change the trans fluid...doing this at 100k may become a problem depending on how well your old trans fluid is holdng everything together...lol...

100mile Tune up:

Spark plugs/wires
Get Altinator Amperage Checked (should be free at any autostore)
02 sensors
Fuel Filter
Replace Radiator Hoses
Replace Differential fluids
Lube Chassy components
Relpace bad bushings if necessary (sway bars, Control armsETC)
Replace Pulley belt reguardless if working properly or not.
You Also might want to have the Fuel Injecters Cleaned

It's funny you say that. I was warming up the car today, I had a friend give it a little gas ( about 3 grand). Part of the Cats Honey comb came shooting out the exhaust.. It sounded like rocks in a tim can... ..

Would a MSD by pass the Opti...?

You might want to check your timing chain too

How can you tell if the Opti is going or gone bad?

It's actually the waterpump that goes bad, which leaks water into the opti which basically kills it. So the question is how can you tell if your waterpump is about to go out. There's a small hole on the bottom of the waterpump that will have a slight dark discoloration around it when the pump is about to go out.

When mine goes out I'm picking up a DynasSpark they can be submerged under water and still function.
