LT1 troubles....

I haven't posted on here in quite awhile due to my home business.Today I was out on a call and my car started shaking when I press on the accelerator. Sortly after my car threw a po300 (random misfire). It feels very slugish, and has a lack of power. I have new 8.5mm wires, plugs gapped at 45, and an MSD coil. Car has 84,000 miles on it. Oil pressure is at 40 (idle) and 60 when on the throttle. I'm thinking its my optispark, as I believe its the original.

Any thoughts?

Re: LT1 troubles....

I'd check the wires first to make sure they aren't burnt or loose.

Check the fuel pressure.

What trans, what year (96 or 97), what mods? Adding a "Signature" is always a good idea - sure I've mentioned it before.

I've been meaning to add a signature.

96 Trans Am
8.5mm MSD wires
MSD Coil
CAI
Throttle body bypass.

I'll be sure to check the fuel pressure next. might save me $550

Also my gas mileage is around 10mpg most days. 13 if I drive it like an old lady

Check the fuel pressure regulator for wet fuel in the vacuum line.

Clean, Also fuel pressure is at 43 idle, 43 under load. I ordered an opti this morning so we shall see till then. Also, I had a slight hesitation between 1000-2000. After my engine warmed up, I felt sluggish. MPG=10 highway
