LT1 total bearing replacement...

May be pulling the 78K block out to replace cam bearings for cam install.

Is it possible to replace the rod, main bearings in addition to the cam bearings if the block is out and on a stand?

It would make sense to me to just replace them all in one lick. I have no reason to believe I need a rebuild, dont have the money either. A full set of bearings should do the trick for miles to come.

honestly if your gonna do all that just throw new piston rings in there as well
if the motor is on a stand its easy to do all the bearings and since alll your stuff is still fine
summit sells a complete rering kit for a round 300 with gaskets bareings and all that
you would just need the cam bearings

I wouldn't re-ring w/o honing the cylinders.

Use Clevite H series race bearings and replace all the studs and bolts with ARP's.

I agree, the cylinder walls look and feel very smooth with no signs of wear. The pistons will not be removed to replace any of the bearings.

The rings will stay and the main bolts will be ugraded.
