if im runing a electric water pump can i run a sbc timing chain? thanks joe

Yes you can, you just need one for a 87+ I believe.

I opted to use the cloyes double roller as it is cheap and I hear it is the best. Like mdacton said you need to clearance the cover though.

just find the cloyes 87 and up dual roller and it works jsut fine. Although i never clearenced the cover, the cover fit just fine, its held up just fine for 10k...but do take thier advice and check the clearence...

With that cam, I would definitely upgrade regardless of the miles.

Same advice here, with those kind of miles, a new chain and gears would be in order. But it would also be nice if you could check and make sure your cam is degreed in to where it should be. Some have found certain gears and chains to throw off the cam timing.

is the stock cam ground straight up?? no advance or retard built in that you need to account for with the chain??
