LT1 Tech Stickies

Hey moderators, why don't we post some sticky topics in this section such as one about cams and their specs/installs, headers, etc. I'm tired of seeing 50 threads a day about the CC306 and hotcam, and I'm sure plenty of other people are too. I just noticed they did it in V6 Tech and thought we should do it here too.

Who's with me?

IMO, too many stickies are annoying. Repetative posts are annoying, too. People should use the search.

Well 10 different ones would be annoying, definitely. But I don't see why 2 or 3 would be a nuisance, though.

Because then the issue becomes which 2 or 3. Would you stickie info about cams, heads, plug installation, optispark issues, the list goes on.

There are benefits to talking about things that can sometimes seem repetitive. You're almost always bound to get a new view, new idea, or just basically learn something new even when talking about the standard old "cat-back" questions.

There is another side benefit of topics that YOU may feel are boring or overly discussed. That benefit is that it brings new members in and lets them contribute. Some of us "old timers" do get tired of answering the same old cat-back and cold air induction questions so we typically ignore them. But, what this does is allows the "new guy" who just bought his F-Body 6 months ago and spent the last few months asking all the questions the "old timers" rarely answer have a chance to provide his input. He is now the "expert" in the area of cat-backs and cold air kits and when the brand new guy comes in and asks the question and he sees that nobody is reponding, he'll typically jump in with what he has learned in the past few months. This gives him a chance to be a valuable part of the team here at camaroz28.com and not only really be valuable but also feel as though his input is valued and appreciated. That is a huge benefit by itself. Plus, every so often something new comes out and the old timers who thought they knew every cold air kit out there just learned that a new one is on the market

While I probably won't sticky topics about individual items (no sense in having 2 pages of stickies! ) I've got an idea that might help out a little. Don't bug me about it... I'll work on it and maybe see how it goes later down the road
