Question LT1 swap, odd injector problem/fix

Ok 99% finished my swap, but odd things have happened. (info 85 Z28, 96 Buick LT1 converted to OBDI, all emmissions removed as well as AC.)

The set of injectors I got with the engine would run the car, everything works great but the injectors didn't fire.

So I pulled one of my dad's (dads car 96 Buick converted to OBDI) and tried and the car ran. Ok odd, tried all 8 of the originals again and wouldn't work. Ok so I figure faulty injectors.

I got a new set from 95 Z/28 LT1, so I plug them in, and try to start the car again, still no fire. So after fiddling with unplugging some and others and still getting no fire, I decided to try something odd.

I took one of my old injectors and plugged it into one of the injector clips and left it on my manifold.

Car fired! ??? Why would putting an old injector onto the harness cause it to fire, and now that I have replaced it back onto the proper injector the car starts up every time now, no problems.

Anyone ran into this before? Im going to be carring a spare injector with me if that solves it but it's a little bit of a worry. and ideas are appreciated.
