Re: lt1 swap help?

I have done the LT1 swap (into my 84 corvette) and can help some what.

Here is a quick list
1. You need to get or modify your harness for your truck, I made a my harness in a maner that has alowed the person who bought my old set up to install it into two diferent cars since they got it including a 1976 suburban. If you are not that good awiring then Jims performance will do it for A COUPLE HUNDRED BUCKS.
2. You need the ECM VATS disabled and any emisions you are not going to use programed out as well, Ion did my ECM work.
3. You will need to make a provision in the radiator for the staem vent
4. You need a high preasure fuel pump and hoses and your tank has to have a return line. (I got the hoses fabed localy from a hose shop for $20)
5. If you can get it I would highly recomend geting the corvette assy bracket and assy's. They place the A/C compresor up high and will work in just about any car/truck.
6. The LT1 will bolt to any trany a normal small block will.
7 If you use the CS alternator be carfull how you wire it.
The book Corvette fuel injection by Charles Probst is an awsome tool for detailed wiring of the LT1 and can be had on e-bay for about $20
