lt1 swap in 67 camaro Header choice??

Hi All,

Question is, will the year specific long tube headers for my motor (96 lt1) clear everything in the 67 camaro? (the car will be lowered but not insane)
I dont want to use square port headers on the D port heads.

Thank all for any help!!!

Noel

As long as the square port is bigger than the D port there shouldn't be a problem. I would get headers for a 67 Camaro sbc.

yes, this makes sense..
Is this how it is? Are those square ports bigger? and will clear the arc in the D port? If so then not an issue..
Anyone have this experiuence first hand? I dont want to block off the port at all.

Thanks for all help..

If worried about blocking the port maybe look for a 1 3/4" primary header, yeah it would be overkill unless the engine is heavily modified but it would ease your mind and should be easy to find.

If you're that worried about it you could call up Kooks and see if they can make a set of headers with D ports.

hehehe.... if money wasnt an object i would be getting my hands dirty....

I like the oversized idea though... yea a bit much for my motor... Stock bottom end and heads, just trying to maximize flow, larger TB, 325hp cam spring & rocker set. headers, lightened flywheel..and a good Computer tune. just trying to make a reliable motor run effieciently is all.

Thanks for the responses.
