Re: LT1 SS vs LS1 SS

To be honest Id take both...both good platforms...LS1 6spd SS will **** ALL over a 6spd LT1 SS bad though...LS1 hp rating is way underated...LT1 is just slightly.

Re: LT1 SS vs LS1 SS

LS1 SS= 350-355 or a little higher due to the "ram air"?
LT1 SS= *Not sure what the factory rating is* about 310-315, maybe 320

Yeah the LS1 SS's will walk the hell out of an LT1 SS. I like BOTH cars, I would rather have the LT1 though. I like the older looks better anyways.

Re: LT1 SS vs LS1 SS

see on AVERAGE 5-6 98+ SS's A DAY!!!!! It's INSANE!!!! *Same with 98+ WS6'sI RARELY ever see a 93-97 Firehawk, OR WS6
.I couldnt agree more LS1 model SS/ws6's seem to be a dime a dozen...but comparing apples to apples Id still take the LS1

Well the point is for people to have to focus on your tail lights, not the front end.

Only because the LS1 has an advantage with it's heads. Give the LT1 good flowing heads from the showroom and the HP between the 2 won't be so much different.

Re: LT1 SS vs LS1 SS

Get what you like, bro......I know around here, 98+ Z28's and SS's are much much much more common than 93-97......actually, I don't think I've ever seen a 96-97 SS since I've lived here.

Of course, all I see everywhere are 5.0 Mustangs, so go figure.

I love the look of 93-97, but love the power of the LS1. But just go with what you feel you'd be most happy with.

Re: LT1 SS vs LS1 SS

I think I've made up my mind. I'm gonna hunt around for an LT1 SS. The rarity coupled with the better front end sealed it for me. Yeah, it'll be a lil slower stock, once the forced induction is on ( haven't decided on supercharger or a turbo-maybe even a TT setup!) it'll be fast, and not like every LS on every corner. Thanks for the insights guys.

Make you choice on what you want and what you can afford. Make sure that you dont bite off more than you can chew. With an lt1 you can delay your payments of goin fast by buying heads+cams after you got the car paid for.

Look for a 96 Teal or a 97 Polo Green. Both are very nice looking and very rare due to the color. Otherwise, black is beautiful.
