LT1 SS Hood Baffle Removal?
LT1 SS Hood Baffle Removal?
Would removing the rain baffles in a 97 SS camaro hood be worth anything?
I've heard gain of 2 tenths at the track.
What about hp gains?
Or would i be better off buying a moroso or K&N CAI?

I would not recommend removing the baffles if you have an aftermarket CAI and especially if you still have your stock SS intake
You don't want water in there
FWIW, I have an actuall SS myself and have the stock SS airbox sitting on the shelf and have a K&N FIPK in the car
My buddy does as well

I doubt there is much if any gain and as mentioned above you risk water damage if it is eliminated.
I did take a Dremel and stone wheel to reduce the height of the baffle by about an eight of an inch. I felt better after doing the mod but noticed nothing in terms of performance (I didn't go into it expecting anything and thus was not disappointed.)

What kind of gain did you get from the cai from the ss box, or did you get anything?
What brand cai is better? K&N, Moroso, Transdap(which looks just like the moroso but cheaper), Arizona speed?
