LT1 SS Hood Baffle Removal?

Would removing the rain baffles in a 97 SS camaro hood be worth anything?

I've heard gain of 2 tenths at the track.
What about hp gains?
Or would i be better off buying a moroso or K&N CAI?

I would not recommend removing the baffles if you have an aftermarket CAI and especially if you still have your stock SS intake You don't want water in there

FWIW, I have an actuall SS myself and have the stock SS airbox sitting on the shelf and have a K&N FIPK in the car My buddy does as well

I doubt there is much if any gain and as mentioned above you risk water damage if it is eliminated.

I did take a Dremel and stone wheel to reduce the height of the baffle by about an eight of an inch. I felt better after doing the mod but noticed nothing in terms of performance (I didn't go into it expecting anything and thus was not disappointed.)

I agree with what was said above.^Unless it is strictly a strip car,I would leave it in.

What kind of gain did you get from the cai from the ss box, or did you get anything?

What brand cai is better? K&N, Moroso, Transdap(which looks just like the moroso but cheaper), Arizona speed?
