LT1 Rebuild Help

Hey guys.My 94 Z is almost at 90K miles. i figure the motor is kind of at its last bit of life..I mean it still runs great and everything, but i am thinking of saving to get it rebuilt.

I got a buddy, whose best friend build up motors, so i was thinking of seeing if i could get him to build me up a 383 stroker, or i dunno if its possible to do a 396.

What do guys think? Someone told me if i rebuild it to rebuild it into an LT4. I want the car to still be streetable, but i want something with some serious horsepower.

Another thing, im 18 with a pretty good paying job for an 18 year old. So im not looking to invest like $8000 into it...but if you guys have some other opinions, please let me know..

THANKS ALOT
JacobK

Well im looking for something that would be daily driveable, but still be a good competitor at the track. I do have emissions, however im working at getting my car registered at my house in Wisconsin so i dont have them..Basically im looking for something with decent amount of power that i could still work on..like supercharger or nitrous, without spending ENORMOUS amounts of money..thanks alot for your help.

If your A4 is stock (converter aside), I'd definitely consider beefing it before slapping an FI beast on it. Just a thought. Also, if it were me, I'd take my chances and stick with the stock rear.. some have had them into the 11's or deeper without issue. Some break 'em with street tires in a parking lot. I'd just spend the $$ on that when it becomes necessary.

Well dude if you look at my specs below.....I'm just about ready to slap it together. I'm spending about 6g's all together and A friend and I are putting it together. The motor itself probably only costing me about 2400.00 Gotta remember its not only the motor thats gonna cost you.

You gotta get:

Bigger injectors ....................... 250.00
Head work to flow 383............. 600.00 min.
TB 52mm.................................. 350.00
Headers................................... 600.00
Cam......................................... 300.00
Programmed............................ 275.00
and a Hella misc parts.............................

a lot to think about...
