Re: lt1 rebuild

So you need new pistons and rings, seals, gaskets, bearings freeze plugs - get a new oil pump and maybe a steel shaft to drive it. Besides your heads and cam, you will need at least new valve springs if they don't come on the heads, and you should get some good roller rocker arms, rocker arm studs, and probably pushrods. You will have the choice between self-aligning rocker arms and non self-aligning which need guide plates which is probably the best way to go. You will probably have your crank polished and the rods resized after installing good rod bolts. The crank might need to be rebalanced. You will need head bolts and may want to consider main studs also. Other stuff - maybe a new water pump and optispark distributor. You might need some tuning of the PCM unless the cam is really small. It adds up quick and that is just a basic list.
