The stock retainers will work, but the LT4 retainers are cheap, why not just get them as well? It's around $70 total shipped for LT4 springs, retainers, and locks from Pace Performance, so you don't have to spend but pocket change to get new retainers. Don't skimp when dealing with engine parts.
