Okay, got the seal kit, came in three parts. I have the two figured out but the oval gasket has me scratching my head. I have the crank seal, the half-seal that goes above he crank...what is the bottom seal when the oil pan is supposted to look like? Mine is round...

 

hmmm, not exactly sure what you're talking about for the 3rd piece. I can only remember two pieces. the paper half moon gasket is for the housing bolting to the block. if you don't remove the housing, you don't need it. there is the RMS itself, just pop it out and put in a new one.
In fact, when we (myself, and engine builder) rebuilt the 'birds engine we didn't even use the paper gasket. Just RTV between the housing and the block.

 

i got a second gasket with my kit also it was round with about eight bolt holes in it. i threw it away

 

yup, thats the one...

 

Also threw that third peice away. Couldnot figure out what it was for.
