There's ways around that, but if you say it's not hooked up, that's the way it should be. Besides, it's pretty obvious when the nitrous comes on, unless it's some puny shot.
Tell them to unhook their turbo next time. Or tell them to man-up and put a small kit on theirs, to get that puppy spooled up NOW.
