LT1 PCM upgrade??
Hello all, names Ryan, from NY, new to the LT1 engine. I know some about these engines, but have a few that might best be answered here. My Father and I have a 94 Caprice with the LT1 that will be put into a 68 Impala 2 door hardtop. But thats for another time.
A friend of mine is looking to pull the LT1 out of a 95 Firebird and swap it into his 70 something GMC pickup. He is looking for information regarding upgrades to the top end, mainly cam and rockers, as well as information on reflashing or upgraded PCM software to go along with these upgrades. What are the best options? Who has the best aftermarket kits available for these engines? If anyone has any links with information I would appreciate it. All the help I can get.

Re: LT1 PCM upgrade??
Best options for your friend's rebuild will depend on his/her intended usage of the motor...all out racing versus dailey driver make a big difference. That and what type of budget has bee alloted to this rebuild will help narrow down your choices.
Off the top of my head, I would recommend doing a search on this board for heads, cams, pcm tuning. That will give you a library's worth of info. I haven't fired up my rebuild yet so can't personally vouch for any particular set up. I will say that I chose AFR heads, CC503, and an LT4 intake for what is now a 383. Had I done a bit more homework first, I probably would have talked to Lloyd Elliot about a heads and cam package from him.
