lt1 oil cooler delete

hi im new to the forums and was had a question about oil cooler delete, so i have a 94 z28 lt1 and want to delete the oil cooler, is there any things i need to know before removing such as oil temps higher or anything that will hurt the engine? also i will be running castrol gtx titanium 5w30 full synthetic. any info will help thanks

It's not going to hurt anything, especially if you use synthetic oil.

I want to take it off because it doesnt sit right at the block and leaks like crazy even with new gasket and tightening it down and plus im planning on getting long tube headers and been reading you need to remove it for clearence

And do i need to use a longer oil filter? If so do you guys have some part numbers for them?

No, you don't need a longer filter. You can use one if you like, but if you are after more clearance, you might not want one.
