There are guys scattered all over the country. If you tell us vaguely where you live many we can recommend someone close, that way should you ever need some hands on tuning you already have a guy.

Have you ever heard of Ed Wright? He is basically the original LT1 mailorder/dyno tuner and is in Tulsa. Maybe you don't want to drive up there for this but he is an excellent mailorder guy and if you should later need a dyno tune he is close enough.

Second the Ed Wright recommendation, especially if you are in Okla. Get him to do it - dyno tune it if he can. Don't mess around with sending it around to the other guys.

Does ED still do dyno tuning? I read somewhere he was just selling chips and mail order now.

Re: lt1 mail in tune

Madtuner for me! Did an amazing job on my 383 engine. Updated that tune after the initial break in to make it even better. after 4 years of daily driving with no cam surge and great hp I couldn't be happier.

Now just sent another computer to him last week for a cam only 355 build on another motor. I shipped the computer Tuesday. It reached him on Thursday. I had it back the following Monday.

Email and phone contact was beyond great on both occasions. Id have no doubts sending it to him.

Even so the OP wants a mailorder and he has a good mailorder guy in state for faster shipping. I wonder if Ed will still do some occasional dyno days even if he no longer has his own? There has to be demand.

I have loaded Madtuner programms for a few guys and it has always gone well, had him socket a pcm for me once too, again good experience.

Re: lt1 mail in tune

As Injuneer posted the link to apparently his is not doing dyno tunes anymore. I did PM him on another forum to ask if he will be doing any dyno tuning like maybe a couple times a year at another facility or anything. That was last night and I haven't heard back yet.

Re: lt1 mail in tune

I saw on another site that he had sold his dyno. Again.... just what I read on a website. Have no idea how true it is. On The Fast Chips website, he appears to be setting up a bunch of "authorized installers" for his mail order tunes, so you can get someone else to load them. Not many locations listed though.

Re: lt1 mail in tune

I thought maybe he would drive to another location and use someone else's dyno for a day but that is not the case.
He is just doing mailorder or if you want a "dyno tune" you use one of his installers like Fred mentioned, they can upload his tune and send him datalogs for some fine tuning..

At any rate he is still a great option
