that should be illegal and punishable by death... or at least having to drive a pink VW Bettle with Richard Simmons riding shotgun!
the LT5 is the engine out of ZR1 corvettes. not sure who designed it but it was assembled by Mercury Marine believe it or not. it cost a fortune and performed very well. but its an arm and a leg to maintian. plus finding someone that knows how to work on one is hard. Trey

yeah...lt5 is the zr1 motor...its a quad-cam designed by lotus...rated at like 405 hp, but always proved to have more than 500. id like to get one of those too, but as already stated, they suck for maintenance. plus upgrade parts are extremely expensive and rare.
The Lt5 Is the autmotive equivalent of Jesus...
Things are a beats and sound amazing
70k buys your two or three LT5's wrapped in a nice bundle we call corvettes

Acually guys... the LT5 holds many records TO THIS DATE (11 years old) In endurance racing..... the LT5 will WRECK any Grand Sport.... I have been in both.... and there is just no comparison... The LT5 isnt even made for the 1/4, It was a SPORTS CAR... and one of the finest ever made. The body was widened 3 inchs. It has a better skid-pad rating then the GS and better handling characteristics....
You obviuosly dont know anything about it... or you are 2 nieve to look around...
International Records LT5
100 Miles @ 175.600 MPH
500 Miles @ 175.503 MPH
1000 Miles @ 174.428 MPH
5000 KM @ 175.710 MPH
5000 Miles @ 173.791 MPH
12 Hours Endurance @ 175.523 MPH
24 Hours Endurance @ 175.885 MPH for 4,221.256 Miles
World Recordss LT5
5000 KM @ 175.710 MPH
5000 Miles @ 173.791 MPH
4,221.256 Miles @ 175.885 MPH
These records were set in the EARLY 1990s... after that they bumped up the power even more to 405
Dont get me wrong.. The LT4 is a great motor... but its no LT5, The LT5 was engineered by Chevy and Lotus and built by Mercury Marine w/ Forged Steel Connectinf Rods,Nitrated Crankshaft, and the Cylindre lined with a Forged aluminum Nikasil coated
I could go on forever.. but you probably wont listen anyways... So ill leave it at that....
BTW: There was a Z06 ZR-1 shootout.... They used the 1991 385hp ZR-1 (1993 the bumped it to 405) and a Stock Z06..... The ZR-1 was going stride for stride with the Z06... Beat it down the 1/4 , has more topend and was right along side it with handling.... That was the 91... to bad they didnt use the 95 more refined ZR-1....
Now If you can prove to me that the Grand Sport is a better car then a new Z06... then fine.... if not (which you cant because it wasnt)... you just learned something today my friend
Now I want you to prove to me a Grand Sport is better then a Z06
