lt1/lt4 valve covers

I just found out that the lt1/lt4 corvette valve covers are both the same thing. No diffrence every lt1 vette came with them yet so much hype are put on them for being discontinued. They can be found very easily used.

well they are made out of different materials lt1's are aluminum i believe and the lt4's are composite. Plus i think the lt4 valve covers look better.

Sorry, they are NOT the same. They look the same on the outside, but are different on the inside.

There is more room inside the LT4 covers to clear the rocker arms. You would have to grind the inside of LT1 covers to achieve the same room.

GM might have combined part numbers to make one replacement composite valve cover. But, from the factor there were seperate C4 LT1 and LT4 valve covers. My 1994 LT1 composite covers look the same as the LT4's, but they have drip tabs that need to cut for roller rocker clearance.

What are you trying to say? Those are the LT4 covers. Of course they also fit the LT1.

There were pictures posted here (at least I think it was here) not long ago to show the LT1 and LT4 are not the same internally. Apparently not everyone knows this.

Ask the guy that posted that his composite covers would not fit over his rockers (because they were LT1 covers and not LT4). He had to grind the drip tabs off his LT1 covers. (like Stl94LT1 did)

Will fit LT4 cylinder heads no problem. Will not fit LT4 cylinder heads equipped with crane gold rockers or possibly any aftermarket 1.6 roller rocker...

The 96 and later are all lt1/ lt4's.Prior to 96 as you stated mr shoebox after the drip tabs are altered they become LT4'S.

They are NOT the same.

Lt1 covers have the drip tabs that do NOT clear roller rockers. They have to be cut out. LT4 covers do NOT have the drip tabs.

Outside appearance and deminisions are the same.
