They are composite, and they are very good ones. You will need studs and screws to hold them on, and a new oil filler cap too.

They are a composite cover and they are the GOOD ones. You will have to modify them to get them to work with any other rocker arm than stock. Do a search that will help you find how to do that.

P.S. If you look at my link in my sig you will see a set of then, inow have a SS dress up kit on them.

I had the worst luck with the gaskets on the valve covers. Every time I pulled them off, the gasket would expand by like 3-4 inches. I ended up having to cut them down and attach them with RTV into the groove in the valve cover.

I have bad luck with simple things.

No, they will not. The composite covers normally come from GM with gaskets.

To install, you will also need:

8 of part # 10108675 bolt
8 of part # 10108674 stud
1 of part # 12555685 oil cap

I run Comp Pro Mags under mine without modification or interference. That was one of the reasons I bought the covers in the first place.

Where can you get the dress up kits?

Considering Crane Golds were used with the LT4 and these valve covers that statement isn't really true.

yeah that happens to me too.

a good trick to stop that is to "glue" the gasket into the valve cover with some weather stripping adheasive

So what is the advantage of the composite VC's vs. stock LT1's?

Looks and I think they are a bit taller. Also no need for modification with RR's.

That happened to me and I really thought I was halucinating. I mean one minute they fit to size and the next they were obnoxiously long. I was able to place them back in the slots, but I have a feeling they are leaking on the rear corners. Not sure if they are the right size before applied and stretch with heat?
