LT1 to Lt4 Conversion: 425+ Hp Proven Kit

They have it for sale at www.paceperformance.com 2,285 for 94-95 and 2,329 for 97-97. It comes with
lT4 heads with valves and springs. LT4 manifold, HOT Cam and 1.6:1rr's and all necessary gaskets. Has any one bought this yet?

Too much money for too little power, IMO. I would look at getting a set of well ported LT1 castings with a matching cam if I were you.

most of the members are going to tell you to go with ported stock heads and a cam. I have less than 2300 in my heads and cam for sure and it would kill that LT4 set up.

can you buy just the heads, if so do that and have them ported, and match it to your intake and get like a cc306 cam and youll be doing some serios damage to the street.~gunter

Always better to go with a heads/cam kit instead of a supercharger on a stock short block. Better gains, less headache.

Word.

A high compression NA motor + supercharger doesnt always work out the best. Yeah itll work, but it wont be optimal and can cause problems. Go the heads and cam route.

Stock castings go for $200 in the for sale section all the time. I'd pick up a set to get worked on and a cam anyday before getting that LT4 conversion.

Too bad lt-4 heads won't fit an LT-1 intake

I highly doubt a lt-4 kit will give you 425 hp anyways. Get your heads done at Skarodoms, do a good set of headers and a cam, you'll be well above the 400 hp mark

I think the kit is more reliable than a supercharger. It would be nice to have 425 Hp all motor

What the?

Intake
Heads
Cam
Rockers / springs

Is this *really* going to add 150HP? Something just doesn't seem right here.

Stock LT1 - 275HP (right?)
LT4 upgrade - 425HP

I don't know where they get that 425 figure. LT4s make 330 hp if I remember right. Give it maybe 20 more with the hotcam. Where are the extra 75 hp coming from?

Actually shouldnt it be around 360 to the wheels assuming a 15% driveline loss?

425*.85 = 361.25

360 rwhp maybe with the HOT cam as well...not with just a pair of LT4 heads, intake, cam, etc
