LT1 > LT4 Accessory bracket alignment?
LT1 > LT4 Accessory bracket alignment?
I'm installing an LT4 engine (from a Corvette) into my 94Z. Although my LT1 accessory bracket for the Alternator and PS pump bolts right up, the LT4 has a dual mass damper on the crank that moves the serpentine belt out about 1 inch.
Questions:
-Did the Camaro / Firebird LT4s have a special bracket to adjust for this, or were spacers used to move the standard bracket out to match? Or was the standard damper used so bracket would line up normally?
-If the bracket is spaced out to line up the belt, it gets pretty tight for the lower two plug wires from that side of the optispark. I have not fit them up yet to see how bad, but looks like the straight boot would not be able to be installed. Is there a workaround to this?
