all of the suddem my lt1 started knocking! you can only hear it when accelerating and its on the passenger side only. when in idle you cannot hear a thing! this happened all of the sudden, and i just changed the oil it stop doing it for about 5 min and then it started knocking again. i can hear it on the top right by the passenger header.

Sounds like maybe a rocker loosened up? I suppose it could also be a leaking header gasket, but I had the opposite symptoms when I had that... but I have a loud car.

 

The only knocking I've ever had was when my wrist pen was going out and the connecting rod was slapping around in there..

 

ewww, when my wrist pin was coming out, I only heard it on deceleration, and it sounded like someone was shaking a beer can w/ a big paper clip in it.

hopefully this isnt what you are hearing...
