Lt1 jegs elbow
57021 has anyone seen one of these on jegs and have any ideas on if its better then the 1le? They claim its longer, looks like it will fit to a tb better then my current trickflow one which never seems to stay put and blocks air when its not aligned properly.

Better in what sense? I’ll go out on a limb and say it isn’t better. Is there some reason you don’t want to, or can’t, use a 1LE elbow?

Was just wondering if anyone has used it, i have a trickflow one now but it does not properly align with the tb.....it does at first, then saggs over time no matter how tight you get the clams. Which restricts airflow.... this one if u notice has a lip that extends out so it may fit better on the tb. 1 Review on jegs said it felt better over the 1le but who knows lol. I agree though heat soak is real, our intake manifolds suck for this.....but spending 900 on a new intake is not a good measure either.

I don’t know if I’d put much stock into what that reviewer said. Truth be told all intakes are probably within 2hp of each other. With that being the case there is no way he could say it “felt better” impossible.
Once again if it was just me I’d go 1LE and call it a day.

Sounds good, well after revision im going to be doing the 1le, already got the tpis air foil, then the maf ends that are plastic, and an SLP intake with 2 green filters on it....should net a good 5 or more over my fipk kit that is a pos and does not even fit right in the car, loosens when i hit speed bumps and **** lol.

The reason the stock rubber elbow has "accordion" pleats in it is so it can flex to accommodate the normal movement of a V8 engine. Using those solid type elbows, let alone heat soak prone, with the short rubber flat couplers does not allow enough engine movement which will pull intake connections apart be it K&N FIPK or a SLP cone deal
If the K&N rubber grommet has been deformed in attempts to keep it tight that part may be a loss cause but if not just heat it in boiling water some so it is more pliable and then install while hot and ideally it will then conform and hold securely when using a stock factory elbow
I eliminated my K&N grommets and just clamped filter to tube and tube to MAF using a SS pipe clamp I got at Home Depot for $3 and MAF to elbow. This moved my MAF closer to TB and I got a MAF extension harness. This was on a B body but I suspect you could do the same with F Body LT1
Either way just use the stock LT1 elbow.

a CAI and better flowing exhaust are the 2 most basic power improvements you can do for any motor. Just a CAI or just a better flowing exhaust on their own is marginal power gain. Together they are "supporting" mods which allow both to function better together. More air in, more air out
With this said whatever "advertised" HP gain a intake company or exhaust company makes...divide by 2 for a more accurate "real time" HP gain.
You can throw bigger valve heads that are ported on a motor but without upgrading the intake, exhaust, cam, injectors, TB etc....the heads alone will be chocked and not provide the power gains on their own as they would combined with "supporting" mods. CAI is just one of the most basic mods but alone it is not much HP improvement
