LT1 in a Jeep
LT1 in a Jeep
there is an old army jeep down the road for sale for not much at all. I do have the need for mud sometime and I was actually thinking about buying one then buying an LT1 to throw in it. I have seen a few rare jeep sites where people have put an LT1 in a jeep and all kinds of other motors. Since i know a little more than the average joe about the LT1 I figure i could do some work on the used engine and put it in. Tranny would be a 4L60E of some sort of course. Anyone got pictures of an install on one?
what kind of problems would i run across besides getting the correct motor mounts?

I forgot to mention some of the other speed bumps in a project like this. The wiring wouldn't be too bad, but you would have to have all of the electronics to go along with the motor. Unless you are wanting a two wheel drive Jeep then you can't use the 4L60E. You would have to find a custom bellhousing that would mate up with the 4x4 tranny/transfer case of your choice. I'm sure there are other things you would encounter, but those are a couple that I can think of right off. The sky is the limit as long as you are not financially restricted. Good luck with it if you decide to tackle it.
