LT1 into the 11's

How did you do it?
Start out with a bone stock LT1, add 3200 converter and 4.10's w/ A4.

what is needed to finish the job?

Re: LT1 into the 11's

I was looking for a little more specific info like cam specs, headwork (flow numbers, valve size etc.) TB size, LT or shorty headers, etc.

I would do the following:
TQ Arm w/relocated front mounting point
LCA's
Panhard rod
Adjustible shocks
Rear sway bar/anti roll bar
Long Tubes
Cat-back
CAI
52mm TB
Tune
Slicks/skinnies
150 shot

I have pretty much the same setup, on paper, I am pretty sure it is capable of netting somewhere in the 11s with a good pair of drag radials.

Re: LT1 into the 11's

1) AI 190 cam and heads
2) 12 bolt
3) slicks & skinnies
4) BMR suspension parts; lca's, sfc's, k-member, ph rod, torque arm.
5) a decent clutch

The cam and head package was sweet. But you will need suporting mods. Bigger injectors, fuel pump (if you hadn't already), 58mm TB, and a full exhaust.

How big was your cam?? I am doing a 383 stroker with AI 190cc heads and one of their cams.

Re: LT1 into the 11's

It was real close to the GM 847. Although I have to say that that particular set up was plagued with the infamous type R lifter (long before it became a sticky ) So it was never perfect. I am sure if you talk to Phil about what you are planning to do he will steer you in the right direction.

Re: LT1 into the 11's

what is ur raceweight shon?
even though u r an M6 i dont see how i could logically reduce that much weight and run anywhere near an 11 with bolt ons. but that is a heluva 60ft

RW is around 3100#s with a 230ish driver.
Auto's can do it too, they just need 4.10s and a GOOD TC, and the TC needs to be in the 4kish range.
Do as much of the weight reduction you can do, get a good tire, go to a good prepped track and race on good weather days. Then work on the suspension, make the most out of what you have. Then if it isnt enough add more power, either cam/heads/juice/etc.
Talk to people that race heads up ALOT and for points/money, they will tell you to work on the 60' and then the 330', after that the rest takes care of itself. Now this is assuming you dont have a butt load of power, alot of the people we talk to are limited by rules and that is how they make the runs that are setting records too!
One of our good friends that has helped alot is NMRA Real Street driver Brad Meadows.
