LT1 intake resurface cost

hey guys ....
just wondering what amount of $$$ i should be looking to pay (on the average) for my intake to get resurfaced. just found out this is what we need to do. i had the heads done already & now we have a problem with the intake. we took it back off the other night & cleaned everything up really good & put on a new gasket & red rtv (plenty of it). it is still leaking in the same area as before & my buddy thinks it may be warped. he is gonna call a couple places monday.
any help would be appreciated

depends. I would guess $80.

I never seen one warped, I would keep checking it over for other possible problems

What was "done" to the heads? If they were resurfaced, how much did they cut them? Enough to cause alignment problems with the intake manifold?

Very much doubt the intake is damaged. But anything can happen.

can't imagine an intake
costing much more then
a head and milling one
would set you back
somewhere between
$35 and $65

I used to work in the machine shop in a Napa auto parts store, and I did tons and tons of head resurfaces and so forth, but NEVER EVER did we resurface an intake. I think they milled too much off your heads. It's very easy to do if they are not watching the machine.

thanks for the input guys......

well when my buddy found the vac leak on the passenger side of the intake, he did say that he found one bolt (i think he said just one) that wasnt tightened all the way down (like it only got the initial torque but not the final), so my buddy tightened it down & it still leaked. we tore the intake back off & cleaned all surfaces along with new gasket & good amount of rtv & we still have the leak on the same side(passenger side). we are gonna have the intake checked tomorrow & i hope it turns out ok, BUT..........if the intake IS warped on that one side thats giving me problems, would you suspect that the warp may have been caused by the engine reaching full temp & meanwhile the intake wasnt properly tightened down on the one side? i will have to wait & see how the result comes back when i have it checked.

well the heads werent milled very much at all. i believe they found a high spot on the corner on the driver side(which is the side my gasket blew out on). my buddy suggested not to have too much taken off..... so we just stuck to the minimum, keeping it close to stock.
