Re: lt1 intake manifold part# ???

I asked Scott at lt1intake.com and here his repley

Casting # is 10108630
An LT1 will have rectangular ports.
An L99 is 12552138.
It will be tapered on one side of the port. But they can be port matched if needed to LT1 size.
I've heard of other casting #'s too, but the tapered port is the give away for the L99.
I've also seen posts by people claiming the tapered port intake was found on a LT1.

There are several but I dont know what they are. the 94-95 is different from the 96-97 and I believe the B-body LT1s have a different intake as well but they all look the same from the outside.

The quote in bold is not an accurate statement. If you include the following sentence, at the very least, it is a contradiction.

I've also seen posts by people claiming the tapered port intake was found on a LT1.

I am aware of 2 LT1 intakes. The '94-95 B-body intake is identical to the corresponding F-body model years. In addition to the late LT1 intakes having the 'tapered' port wall to match the short (curved) wall of the head ports, the LT4 intakes have this tapered wall as well, making the ports virtually identical to the later LT1 intakes.

Not from what I have seen. The B-body intake has larger square ports to match the runners of the iron LT1 heads.

Brad, owning 3 B-bodies, I am going by experience when I state the casting(s) are identical. I'm also confident my 3 are representative and typical, and not special or odd in any way. I do not have an answer for what you could have personally seen that would be different. I feel we can agree that no factory manifolds had port machining done to them.

No porting but I could have swore the casting numbers werent different comparing an intake off a Caprice with a friends 95 Z28.
