LT1 intake gaskets are HAZ-MAT through summit ?
I just placed an order through Summit for my head , intake and exhaust gaskets and noticed that there is a special handling charge on the LT1 intake gaskets? What is more hazardous about them than say a regular 350 gasket? or is this just an error on their part. I though it was pretty funny that it is a "Ground ship only item".

Well since I work at Summit I can tell you why, the gasket kit probably has a sealant or silicone or something in it that the goverment considers hazardous and could leak and cause problems on an aircraft.
We sell Edelbrock gas pressurized IAS shocks that can only be sent via ground, I guess they've never been tested in an un-pressureized cargo hold?

just got back from your store a couple hours ago, got a bunch of ****, my favorite was on the discount shelfs I got a box of EVERY LT1 gasket minus the head gaskets for $50.
considering I'm doing the tear down and build up tomarrow I thought it is pretty damn cool.
