LT1 Install

Hey, simple question... hopefully a simple answer.

Is it possible to install an LT1 w/ a trans bolted to it from the top?
If so, how should I go about it.

Re: LT1 Install

possible, ya probably... easy, NO! I've done it once and it about near killed me! The bottom is much much easier. If you do decide to do it any way though, you better have an empty engine bay (no radiator, ect.)

what exactly needs to be done in order to remove the lt1 from the bottom. Do you have any diagrams?

Re: LT1 Install

I pulled and installed an LT1+tranny in my Formula and it was a piece of cake. Took maybe two to three hours to pull out (including removing all harnesses, hoses, etc.) and maybe an hour to put back in (with help, of course ).

When you put it back in make sure the car is raised pretty high. Slide a jack under the cone of the tranny and use it to roll the tranny back so it doesn't scrub the ground.

If you got any questions, PM me.
