LT1 Heads

There is person advertising a pair of LT1 heads (brand new from GM) on craigslist for $695.00 but doesn't say if they are bare or not. This person lives about 5 miles from my home.My question is,are all 93-97 heads the same.or are there differences and what casting numbers should I be looking for for my 93.I searched Shoebox's site, maybe I missed it but can't find this info even from GM parts lookup. They have been advertising this for about a year now.I really don't need them, but with parts getting scarce and the junk yards chewing up the f-bodies like there is no tomorrow ,maybe as a spare parts kinda thingy.Any answers appreciated. Many thanks.(The ad says fit's 93-97 LT1 but I'm concerned).

Re: LT1 Heads

All the heads will interchange and in stock form flow about the same. The early 374 and 643 castings are more desirable for porting.

Re: LT1 Heads

As a point of reference on price, I sold my original 1994 (the preferred ones) 6 months ago for $200. Guy that bought them was from PA so we met 1/2way to avoid shipping.

Are these #'s somewhere on the heads in a 3 digit only place or are they part of a bunch of #'s?Many thanks.

Re: LT1 Heads

There is a complete casting number on top of the heads near the valve springs, and those would be the last three digits. I'll post a picture for you later in the day.

Re: LT1 Heads

Most stock lt1 heads I've seen usually go for about 200
